Load and play samples
Bring your own audio into a Pooly project.
What you’ll do
You’ll add an audio track and load a WAV file from your device, then play it back in your project.
Step 1: Add an audio track
Open a project and go to the Launcher. Tap the Audio add-track button at the right edge of the grid. Pooly creates a new audio track and opens Detail View so you can load a file.
Step 2: Load your file
In Detail View you’ll see the wave editor. Tap Load Sample and pick a file from your device. Pooly supports WAV files.
Your audio appears as a waveform. Press Play to hear it. If the clip is longer than you need, you can trim the visible region later by adjusting the clip’s start and end in the editor.
Step 3: Place it in the launcher
Tap the back arrow to return to the Clip Launcher. Your audio clip sits in the slot you chose. Tap it to launch playback, or include it in a scene with your other tracks.
To load a different file into the same slot, open the clip again from the launcher (long-press → Edit) and use the load control in the wave editor.
Step 4: Fit it to your song
Audio clips can follow your project’s tempo depending on warp settings in the clip controls. For loops, try the repitch, texture, or tones warp modes until the loop sits cleanly on the grid.
Tips
- Clean, short samples work best when you’re starting out
- One-shot hits are ideal for layering on a drum track
