Pooly

2 Browser

Find instruments, effects, and your own sounds.

2.1 When to use the Browser

Use the Browser when you want to change a track’s instrument, add an effect, or load one of your own preset files. It is not a separate screen you open from the home page—it appears as a full-screen overlay inside Clip Detail when you browse for sounds.

2.2 Opening the Browser

On a MIDI track, tap the track name in the header while Clip Detail is open. The instrument browser overlay appears. To pick an effect for a device already on the track, open the browser in Effects mode from Clip Detail’s effects panel.

2.3 Browsing instruments

2.3.1 Categories

Built-in sounds are grouped by type:

  • Keys, Bass, Pads, Leads, and other melodic categories
  • Drums and percussion
  • A USER section for presets and samples you’ve added to your device

Tap a category to see subcategories, then tap a preset to load it on the current track.

Use the search bar to find presets by name. Results update as you type. Tap a result to load it immediately.

2.3.3 User content

If you keep preset or sample files in Pooly’s user folders, they appear under USER. Tap a user item to load it the same way as a factory preset.

2.4 Browsing effects

Switch the browser to Effects mode to add reverb, delay, filter, and other processors to a device in the chain. Tap an effect to insert it; adjust its settings in Clip Detail after loading.

2.5 Tips

  • Tap the track name again or use back navigation to close the browser without changing anything
  • Preview by playing the piano roll or pads after loading a new sound
  • Start from a preset close to your goal, then tweak parameters
